 I was honored to be part of Amelia's wedding doing the makeup for her and her bridal party. That time, the look she wanted was more natural, preety and bridal. Very appropriate for this wonderful school teacher and educator as it suits her style,  nurturing, caring, fun and loving personality. But on Friday this past week, we took her to another level.  It's DIVA TIME LADY!

Amelia has this beautiful face with high cheek bones, great skin. I just love her face. I have been treating it all these years. She comes to me for facials, peels, you name it she gets it!  So I know her face very well.  I always wanted to do something a little bit more exotic on her.  Although I knew she would not request this look (it's not her) I wanted to treat her to it and show her other options.  After we were done, she reevaluated the way she saw herself.  She is now a bit more free with her style.  

We spent an afternoon at my studio, hair makeup and styling and shot a few photos.  This is Amelia, lovely, natural, beaufitul skin, transformed into a more glamorous Amelia. After the shoot, we all went out to our local and favorite Chinese restaurant and toasted to her new look!  Still not her, but a more glamorous Amelia. Her husband approved! oh yes he did.

Alyse: A Bridal Trial! January 09

                      

                                  Skin Enhancing Makeup Trial

Alyse:  Lovovely lady.  She came for her first makeup trial with her lovely Mom last week. We had a ball!!!!!

A soft natural, feature enhancing makeup is what I had in mind for her.  She still wants to look like herself but, of course, look like, after all "she is getting married".  I applied lifting, skin enhancing techniques and waterproof airbrush makeup along with anti aging products.  For the under eye darkness, I came across a new product which is all the hype and for now a well kept secret, but apparently not for long.  The products used: yes ladies, this ORANGE stuff really works.  Just take a peek!

for under the eyes.  The corrector not only works extremely well for undereye challenges, but also do not make the skin under the eyes look "caky". Ingredients include Peptides.  Peptides work on lines, wrinkles as well as having a  tightening  effect on loose skin providing an immediate lift AND it also plumps skin cells for a smoother appearance.

         

For the rest of the makeup, I used my good ol reliable, Kett Cosmetics Hydro Proof Foundation, www.kettcosmetics.com  the only makeup I found, that really stays on until you are ready to take it off and looks like a second skin.  I airbrushed the foundation, a little blush and some contours with the water proof formulas for  a more natural glow, softness and maximum wear.  I also used MAC's Mineralize skin finish in Petticoat (i love that stuff) to give her a little luminescence and radiance on the apples of her cheeks, followed by a soft pink blush.

She is still looking like  herself but, of course, ready to go out and show her new look.

Before & After: Jenny Baek-Bridal Makeup Trial - December 2008

              Jenny's trial was great!  She is a sweet lady, friend of a past bride client of ours.  Jenny  wanted to make her eyes the focus.  She loves cool tones, as you can see, she knows!  Those colors look great on her skin tone.  I added false individual lashes.  These are applied one by one for a more natural and full effect (her first time.)  I also contoured her cheeks a bit with the airbrush for a soft contour,  which makes her face a bit more alongated which naturally and softly acentuates her bone structure. I also contoured her nose a bit, highlighted the top of her cheek bones.  For long wearing lip color, I used a what I call "hard core" long wearing lipstick (this is color technology does not come off until you take it off, not available in retail stores exclusively available at BridalGal) the color used Pink Champagne to go with her look.  

              As always, I used Waterproof Airbrush Makeup from Kett Cosmetics for extended durability and a beautiful smooth finish.
