Younger skin, eat, be merry and Happy Thanksgiving!

EnzymesSidebar2 Fall harvest is such a bountiful time of year. And many of the ingredients traditionally found on the Thanksgiving table – cranberries, pomegranates, apples, pumpkin, grapes and herbs – deliver a wealth of nutrients to the body. Those same ingredients  also do so for the skin.

Of course these ingredients are only as healthy as the recipes they are used in – they can be antioxidant powerhouses or become devoid of any nutritional value. Skin care formulations are no different. Ingredient combinations and levels, quality, and the science of Chirality all play significant roles in the effectiveness of these fall staples.

Thanksgiving Table to Treatment Room

Many of the fruits of fall boast extremely high antioxidant counts. Take the pomegranate  for instance, it is said to have three times the antioxidant power of red wine and green tea! When combined with ingredients like Tocopherol or Resveratrol in cosmeceutical formulations, it becomes even more powerful. The antioxidant count skyrockets, and it becomes an accomplice in fighting free radicals and stimulating cellular proliferation.

Pumpkin, which contains a wide spectrum of vitamin A derivatives, when combined with D-Alpha Tocopherol (the chiral form of Vitamin E) becomes not only an age-reversal formula, but also a free-radical scavenger with moisturizing and preservation properties.

There are several ingredient combinations that become powerhouse formulas when the science of Chirality is applied. Our Rhonda Allison skin care, contains several fall favorites and formulations full of antoixidant power. A list below:

  • Pomegranates (Punica Granatum) – Found in the Cherry Jubilee Enzyme and Pomegranate Enzyme/Mask.
  • Cranberries (Vassinium Macrocarpon) – Found in the Cranberry Scrub
  • Pumpkins (Cucurbita Pepo) – Found in the Pumpkin Parfait Enzyme, Pumpkin E Serum , Pumpkin Peel, Pumpkin Rinse, and Pumpkin Cleanser
  • Herbs (Rosemary, Thyme, Basil) – Found in the Amino Peptide Serum, Peptide 3-n-1 Eye Cream, Glycolic Herbal Wash and Italian Herbal Peel
  • Apples (Pyrus Malus/Malic Acid-L) – Found in the Organic A, Apple Mist, Apple Wine Peel and Bio Reform 28
  • Grapes (Vitis Vinifera) – Found in the Satin Peptide Serum, Antioxidant Complex Serum, MVC Serum, Grape Seed Hydrating Serum, Grape Seed Parfait Mask, and Blushed Wine Gel

This season, fall and winter, keep your skin protected from the environment, dryness, craking, dehydration is inevitable if you are not protecting your skin.  Wrinkling and aging skin can be reduced. Include antioxidant protection in your daily routine, drink water, protect with spf 30 and rest.  You will notice a dramitacal difference when you look in the mirror and by the way your skin will feel.

It's time to take care of the largest beauty organ in your body! Protect it.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

CRANBERRIES and Holiday Season Special Facial Therapies

Cranberries from RH post Is there any fruit that says “holidays” like cranberry? Cranberries are a big part of our holiday traditions, largely because they are harvested in the fall, and are most fresh and bountiful during this season.

Vassinium Macrocarpon (cranberry), the main ingredient in our Limited Edition RED Cranberry Scrub, is a natural and rich source of antioxidants with amazing antibacterial benefits. Cranberry also provides a natural lipid barrier for moisture retention support.

Cranberry, most notably, contains a considerable grouping of beneficial chemicals such as alpha-terpineol, anthocyanosides, benzoic acid, lutein, quercetin, vitamin B6, to name a few. They are also an excellent source of polyphenol antioxidants, vitamin C and phyto-chemicals. The oil in cranberries delivers Omega 3, 6 and 9 essential fatty acids to the skin, which is responsible for the lipid barrier support. This process helps the skin retain moisturize and treats roughness and dryness.

A Bountiful and Delicious Scrub Redbox

The RED Cranberry Scrub was created specifically with the holiday season in mind from the enticing aroma of cranberry and cinnamon to the results-driven actives that target winter skin doldrums.

Cinnamon Cassia Leaf Oil, antibacterial and antifungal oil, is used in the scrub for its stimulating effects, potent anti-inflammatory properties, and its delicious scent. The terpenoids in cinnamon also promote circulation and a glowing, rosy complexion.

Tocopherol (D-Alpha), vitamin E and another powerful ingredient in the scrub, helps protect the skin from free radical damage. It is an antioxidant that stimulates the immune system and fights the adverse effects of oxidative stress including photo-aging.

Last, but certainly not least, we added Resveratrol (wine extract) for its firming and toning benefits. Resveratrol is another powerful antioxidant source and radical scavenger that works to stimulate cellular proliferation and collagen synthesis. This polyphenol-packed ingredient promotes plumper, more youthful looking skin while also inhibiting proteases.

Aside from the powerful list of ingredients, the RED Cranberry Scrub is a luxurious addition to a winter treatment. It will polish away dead, dull cells and invigorate the skin leaving it winter radiant!

Antioxidant therapy for our skin, indulge!

Redbox With much anticipation, today we finally unveiled our Limited Edition RED Indulgence Facial and RED Box, a holiday exclusive sensational treatment.

What’s in the RED Box? A grouping of limited edition super-antioxidant formulas: Pomegranate Enzyme, Pomegranate Mask, Cranberry Scrub and RED Apple Mist. All of which are used in the new RED Indulgence Facial. We chose these red superfruits not only because they are antioxidant powerhouses, but also because they are most fresh and abundantly harvested this time of year.

Indulge in Antioxidants

The RED Indulgence Facial is the ultimate in luxurious, holiday relaxation and an aromatic indulgence, designed to revive and replenish depleted, dull winter skin for a more youthful, glowing complexion.

The treatment begins by cleansing the skin with the Citrus Gel Cleanser followed by the Cranberry Scrub, which is delicately rolled onto the skin to gently polish away dead cells. Pom The Pomegranate Enzyme deepens the exfoliation while a light vapor works it deeper into the skin.

To nourish and support the skin, the Super C Serum is blended into the skin followed by a facial massage with the Grape Seed Hydrating Serum, which delicately melts into the skin and releases tantalizing cinnamon and clove aromatics.

To finish the relaxing treatment, a creamy Pomegranate Mask is smoothed on with a brush and can be combined with the Chocolate Antioxidant Mask, as a double layer mask, for added antioxidant support. The treatment ends with a soothing mist of RED Apple Mist, which cools and refreshes the skin, leaving it dewy and well nourished.

 Super RED Ingredients

Punica Granatum (pomegranate) –                                                                                    A  remarkable fruit extremely rich in antioxidants – which have tremendous skincare benefits, scavenging free radicals and helping prevent DNA damage.

Vassinium Macrocapon (cranberry)  -                                                                                A natural antioxidant with antibacterial properties that provides a natural lipid barrier for additional moisture retention.

Malic Acid (L) (apple) –                                                                                                        AHA that promotes skin exfoliation for a smoother, younger looking skin.

Resveratrol –                                                                                                                      Potent antioxidant that stimulates cell proliferation and collagen synthesis

Take time out! You really don't know what you are missing! Gorgeous skin NOW! To indulge, call me make an appointment, you deserve some anti Oxidant therapy!

Beautifying Skin for Spring Brides

When the sun begins to warm our faces again and love is in the air, we know that wedding season is underway. But after the cold wind, dry heating systems, and dark days are done with our faces, most of us leave wintertime looking a little dull. So what’s a bride to do? Just remember some simple tips that will help   Adove lilly and necklace Untitled-2 you feel radiant on the big day.

To bring your face back to life, there are some basics that always help whether you’re at a spa or your bathroom sink. Firstly, be sure to exfoliate: it can be as simple as switching to an exfoliating face wash a few times a week. It always helps to add a product with something like fruit enzymes or hydroxy acids into your regimen for added results.

Going to get microdermabrasion at the spa is a great choice for deep exfoliation that will be noticed right away. Any of these options will reveal fresh skin that is glowing and smooth.

Second, you need to continuously moisturize to have skin perfect for makeup application. If you’re getting a facial at a spa, that’s great because they will both exfoliate and moisture your skin while you’re there. At home, be sure you’re using a formula appropriate for your skin type, like a gel for oily skin, a thicker cream for dry, or something in between. Some of the face lotions with radiance/skin brightening ingredients are perfect for dewy skin, and are a nice boost for a romantic look.

It just takes a little extra care to revive skin for a complexion that’s more awake and better textured- so it not only glows in photos, but is a great base for perfect makeup!
